Focus On Seniors

The Centre for Abused Women Culture and Counselling Toronto focus is on providing social, recreational and health promotion day programs for seniors in the Greater Toronto Area. Our mission is to reduce social isolation, improve the health and well-being of older adults and empower them to lead meaningful and connected lives in which they are engaged and participating in the community.  Through our many multifaceted programs, we are committed to providing inclusive, interactive, and accessible programs that make a difference in the lives of seniors, promoting independence, a sense of belonging to a supportive community and fostering a sense of purpose in life.

Goals and Objectives of our Centre
1) Empower seniors, individuals with disabilities, their families, and other consumers to choose and easily access options for existing mental and physical health and long-term care facilities.
2) Provide streamlined access to health and long-term care options and enhance Aging and Disability, Resource Centers
3) Provide professional, efficient, and effective call center services for older adults, the disabled, and their caregivers to have full access to a comprehensive array of resources.
4) Utilize highly trained personnel to staff the Elder Helpline for Information and Referrals services, including appropriate triage to local, provincial, and federal programs.
5) Provide ongoing training to ensure that all call center staff provide quality access services.

  • To assist seniors to develop business plans, life skills, including consumer advocacy; career training options, intake and assessment, job training and counseling training, skills training and placement.
  • To assist disabled seniors to deal with various crisis involving health crisis situations.
  • To assist them to address barriers in the workplace enhance innovative programs to address structural barriers and enhance their occupational professions through training, referral and equity programs

  • Social media awareness
  • Recreation and sports
  • Dance and music
  • Referral to Community Resources
  • Help Filling in Documents
